User-editable websites and Content Management Systems
Maintaining a site can be a big job, especially if you aren't interested in or don't have the time to learn the nuts and bolts of web-design. This usually means one of two things:
- The site never gets updated
- You have to pay someone to make every update
While charging maintenance and support is many web-design companies' bread and butter, at Precedence we prefer to empower our customers by offering them the tools to do it themselves with our custom-developed, easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS) called SurfYourOwn.
SurfYourOwn allows you to edit your site from anywhere using a standard web-browser. Without having to purchase any special tools or learn about HTML, etc. you can:
- Create new pages
- Manage a consistent theme of colours and styles
- Upload, resize and crop pictures
- Edit text, headers and captions
- Create simple-to-use menus for your visitors
- Password protect sections of your site
- Upload resources such as PDF files for download
- Create photo galleries
- Set time limits on sections of your site so that it changes over time even without you manually editing it
We can provide full training facilities as well as customisation and initial site building (which could mean taking your existing site and recreating it in the CMS so that ongoing maintenance is easier).

Ongoing hosting fees: £360 (per annum, payable in advance)
Design/development fees: On application tailored to your needs
